First day of Teaching

Today is my first day of teaching. My class is in Grade 7-A. I don't even know how to teach them. Will they understand me? Will they participate? Well, luckily I have a translator - Rafli.

First, I need to greet them before entering the classroom:

Selamat Paga Anak anak, apa kabar hari ini? ( Good morning class! How are you today?)

Then, I will introduce myself:

Nama Saya Ely. (My name is Ely). I am from the Philippines. I will be your teacher for today.

All that I said in English will be translated by Rafli. So it's like a partner learning strategy (HAHA).

The textbook or the reference is written in bahasa and instead of finding another sources in English, I just translated the lesson in the book because I want to adjust and to know how they teach a certain lesson. My topic is about the Social Arithmetic particularly the Profit and the Loss. With the use of textbook, I was able to contextualize and put it in my beautiful PowerPoint Presentation.

My powerpoint is so coooool! HAHA

With the use of creative PowerPoint, I was able to suit the mind and heart of my students and they easily and effectively understand my lesson. According to Ibu Ros, it's a job well done!
